Switch to new Online Filing

The new Online Filing will be available to all users starting 15 October 2025. 

The new Online Filing is a web-based application. With this version, you can submit applications and subsequent actions for a Netherlands patent and submit documents for validating European patents. Patent attorney offices who participated in the pilot are already using the new version for submitting documents.

This new version does not yet contain forms for the PCT procedure. The integration with systems of the Netherlands Patent Office and WIPO does not yet work completely. Together with WIPO, the EPO and our supplier, we are working on a solution regarding this problem. As of today we have started testing  the PCT forms.

Switch to the new Online Filing

If you are not already using the new application, we ask you to make the switch at short notice. Please only use the current eOLF for the PCT procedure. 

As of 15 December 2025, the old version will be decommissioned. This means that after this date, you will only be able to use the new Online Filing application.

Signing up for the new Online Filing

Each user will need to create their own individual account:

1. Register your account

   

2. The Netherlands Patent Office activates your account within a few days
3. Log in and set up 2-factor authentication (2FA) via the QR code
4. Use this 2FA code to log in from now on

Create organisation:

A main user can create an account for an organisation. The main user can invite and grant rights to colleagues to submit filings and subsequent actions for this organisation.

The manual describes how the main user can create an organisation. 

Submitting via the new Online Filing

You can try out filling in and processing various forms in the application. 

Please note: You are working directly in a production environment, so when you click on “send”, the Netherlands Patent Office will process this submission. 

Follow-up

We will keep you updated on PCT form developments and the final date for decommissioning of the current Online Filing application.
