What will change with the new Online Filing?

The new Online Filing application will be launched in the first half of 2025. What will change? 

• The new Online Filing is a web based application. 
  This means that you no longer need to install the software of the European Patent Office. You can open the application by clicking on a link.
   
• Login via 2-Factor-Autentication (2FA)
  In the new Online Filing module, you will be logging in using 2FA. Before the new Online Filing becomes available, you can read more about this login method in a separate news item.

• When you file an application or other post, you must first select for which procedure you want to file these documents.  

  
  
   

• The new Online Filing application allows the Netherlands Patent office to modify existing forms and develop new forms. For example, we will be able to create a form for the application of a supplementary protection certificate.
