The Netherlands Patent Office would like to remind you of the measures set out in the amended EU Regulation 833/2014. These measures remain in force and the Netherlands Patent Office continues to implement these European sanctions regulations. This means that the Netherlands Patent Office is not permitted to validate EP patents held by Russian nationals or natural persons residing in Russia for the Netherlands. This applies to all patents granted on or after June 25th, 2024. Furthermore, the filing of national applications by Russian nationals or natural persons residing in Russia has not been permitted since 25 June 2024.

See also Article 12 of the Regulation, which states that intermediaries in the EU may be liable to prosecution if they assist in circumventing sanctions.
